Dr. Emmanuel Frimpong Boamah

Executive Director

Dr. Emmanuel Frimpong Boamah holds a PhD in Urban and Public Affairs. He is trained as an interdisciplinary scholar with research interest in how the governance of land, water and food systems can facilitate sustainable and healthy urbanism in both Global North and South countries. He is currently a faculty member in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at the State University of New York, Buffalo.

Mr. Andy B. Nyamekye

Director of ICT4Ag

Andy is finalising his PhD research at the Wageningen University in the Netherlands. He specialises in development policy and planning and currently focused on understanding innovation and food systems governance. He has published cutting edge scholarly works in the fields of natural resource governance, water management in food systems, knowledge creation in innovation systems and understanding decision-making complexities in the Climate-water-food Nexus.

Dr. Davina Osei

Research Fellow

Davina Osei is a member of the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Institute’s (OPHI, University of Oxford) research and outreach team and currently completing her PhD in Development Economics and Governance at UNU-MERIT/Maastricht University, the Netherlands. She holds a Masters in Applied Economics from the University of Strathclyde, UK. Davinahas consulted for several international development organisations including UN Food and Agriculture Organisation, African Development Bank, UNDP Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme

Janyl Moldalieva

Policy Analyst

Janyl Moldalieva is a Ph.D. Candidate in Public Policy and Policy Analysis at United Nations University – Maastricht Economic and Social Research Institute on Innovation and Technology/Maastricht Graduate School of Governance. Her research looks at multi-level transparency and accountability policies and practices in (resource) governance. Janyl was a research fellow at the George Washington University (USA), Exeter University (UK), and Columbia University in the City of New York (USA).

Kwaku Owusu Twum is a versatile geospatial technologist and research consultant. He had his bachelor degree in Human settlement planning. And his Masters in Geographic Information Systems (Mphil. GIS), all from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST, Ghana). Through practical innovation, he applies smart planning and Geo-technology in research studies for rural, urban and regional development. His research interests include: Smart city modelling, disaster management, food security and management technology; water security and governance

Charles Kofi Owusu

Project Manager

Charles Kofi Owusu has ten (10) years practical experience in consulting, research and project management within the renewable energy and climate change sectors. He has worked on over 25 renewable energy and sustainable development research projects for the private sector, the Government of Ghana and over 10 multilateral organisations. His special interest includes researching and consulting on renewable energy market development, sustainable development, circular economy, climate change, rural economic development and renewable-based rural electrification. He holds 2 masters – MSc Economics and MSc Development Economics from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and Université Clermont Auvergne, France, respectively.

Dr. Wes Grooms

Policy Analyst and Managing Editor

Dr. Grooms holds a Ph.D. in Urban and Public Affairs. His research is focused on issues of social equity and sustainability with particular attention paid to the nexus of political governance and built environment interventions. Correspondent to his professional expertise in housing markets, neighborhood development, and banking, he holds a Masters of Urban Planning with concentrations in sustainable urban design and housing policy, and a B.Sc. in business administration. Dr. Grooms also possesses expertise in performance measurement and program evaluation
